Common questions

Luciola does not find my monitor or cannot control it.

Luciola controls monitors over DDC/CI. Many models let you turn that off in the on-screen menu; turn it on there. Docks, KVM switches, USB-C hubs and DisplayLink adapters often do not pass DDC/CI through. Try the monitor connected straight to the graphics card.

Brightness cannot be changed in HDR mode.

Many monitors lock brightness over DDC/CI while HDR is on. That is the monitor's decision, not Luciola's. LG monitors usually keep it adjustable; for others Luciola shows a hint.

The input does not switch on my LG monitor.

LG monitors switch inputs with a command of their own that Windows cannot send directly, so Luciola sends it through the graphics driver. This is tested with NVIDIA cards; for AMD and Intel we would love to hear how it goes.

How do I find the Luciola widget in the Xbox Game Bar?

Open the Game Bar with Win+G and turn Luciola on in the widget menu. If it is missing, restart the Game Bar once: it only picks up new widgets after that. The gear in the widget chooses which controls it shows. Input starts hidden, because switching it mid-game usually takes the picture away.

What is a monitor report?

When Luciola does not know a monitor model yet, it asks once whether you would like to send us its technical details. You see the whole report first. It contains no serial number and nothing that points to you or your PC. After sending you get a receipt number you can use below to delete it.

How do I send you a diagnostics package?

In Luciola under General, Advanced, "Export diagnostics". The zip file contains system info, logs and settings, without user name, profile path and PC name. Send it to us by mail.
